Abstract

Building and sustaining a faculty development program for online education requires extensive time and resources. In light of shrinking budgets, increased demand, and continuous advancements in technology, faculty development professionals often struggle with updating or revising their own curriculum. As part of the State University System of Florida Board of Governors 2025 Strategic Plan for Online Education, the University of Central Florida is creating a robust online faculty development program to serve the entire state of Florida. Titled the Teaching Online Preparation Toolkit (TOPkit), it will offer a comprehensive set of online resources, an annual workshop, and an ongoing community of practice.
