Journal of International Law and Comparative Studies
About This Journal
The Journal of International Law and Comparative Studies (JILCS) is a student-run and student-edited academic legal publication housed at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law in Florida, United States. JILCS publishes scholarly volumes that advance the study and practice of international and comparative law.
Each year, JILCS produces a single annual volume featuring a curated compilation of articles by both distinguished legal professionals and outstanding law students. Each volume is organized around a specific theme that fosters new ideas and provides in-depth analysis of international law while offering comparative perspectives across different legal systems.
A distinctive feature of our publication is that every article is presented in both English and Spanish within the same volume. This commitment reflects not only our dedication to accessibility in international legal scholarship, but also our recognition of the vital role that Spanish plays in the South Florida legal landscape and in the broader international community.
By presenting scholarship in two languages, JILCS strengthens an often-overlooked component of the legal field and helps bridge cultural and linguistic gaps. Additionally, our volumes broaden the reach of legal research as we serve as one of the few academic law journals in the world to publish in a dual-language format.
Opinions appearing in the Journal of International Law and Comparative Studies are those of the individual contributors and not the views of the Journal of International Law and Comparative Studies, its Editors, Nova Southeastern University, or the Shepard Broad College of Law.
