Abstract
The purpose of this panel presentation is to share the experiences and insights of the multiple panel members about their leadership roles and strategies for teaching qualitative and mixed methods designs within a framework of a Research Methodology Group (RMG). The panel leader is the founder and the members of the panel are methodologists of the group. RMG has formed within a university with the purpose of generating discussion around existing and emerging research designs and building resources to support scholarship across the university. Experiential learning and scholarly leadership serve as theoretical framework of the group. Scholarly leadership is held as a transformative relationship among experienced scholars and practitioners who intend, through the application of research, to advance their professional life. Experiential learning seeks to put knowledge to work and bridges theory and practice cultivating a transdisciplinary community of practice. RMG created a dynamic community of scholar practitioners who share and apply their research method knowledge. The presentation will describe the group and how it enhances participants’ knowledge of the qualitative and mixed methods designs. The group framework and strategies can be used by audience to enhance research designs.
