Proposal Description
GAMIP Latin America presents Peace Cafe, a participatory and dialogued meeting space, virtual, face-to-face or hybrid, for critical reflection, study, promotion, and practices of Cultures of Peace. We want the exchange and respect of opinions and ideas without polarization.
Peace Cafe is for all GAMIP members and civil society actors, researchers, educational institutions, activists, business people, and governments. We hope to share a good coffee, listen and learning common issues and problems in the region.
This project is organized by GAMIP ALC and is supported for its execution by a registered member, by someone from an organization whose objectives are aligned with it, or by academic institutions.
Peace Cafe responds to the mission and vision of GAMIP in achieving a global Culture of Peace in the face of violence present in the world. GAMIP provides leadership for a global movement of civil society and governments striving to develop ministries and other infrastructure for peace.
It also promotes the principles of the Declaration for the Transition to a Culture of Peace in the XXI Century. We want to share and make visible the actions and projects that GAMIP ALC Dialogue Circles are carrying out in the Latin American region. We invite groups and organizations external to GAMIP with projects related to the Peace to dialogue.
From the GAMIP Pedagogy Circle we have successfully carried out the Coffee for Peace in different cities of Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica and Argentina, thanks to the support of our friends who are members of this Peace network. Our intention is to publicize the Café para la Paz, as well as its methodologies (of organization and development) in order to strengthen the Peace infrastructures from civil society and organizations. .
We recognize that together we can transform the world.
