Proposal Description
Circle Processes have been utilized through the millennia by many indigenous peoples, to foster connection and meaningful dialogue. Especially when facing a challenge or harm, groups have come together to swap ideas, share insights, and hear alternative perspectives about what has happened.
This program will provide a brief introduction to these practices and invite participants to consider how the methodology fosters respect and understanding. Participants will have a glimpse of what is involved in Circle conversations, engage in a brief “fishbowl” Circle, and engage in an interactive discussion about how and when Circles are best applied. Individuals come away with a rich appreciation for how this process helps boost sensitivity and builds community and a sense of togetherness.
