The Shoulder and Rotator Cuff (CEU)
Event Type
Presentation
Start Date
12-12-2015 9:00 AM
End Date
12-12-2015 12:00 PM
Description
This session reviews anatomical structures, joints, function, and musculature of the shoulder complex with considerations of the blood supply to the rotator cuff. The kinematic properties for shoulder elevation and the role of the rotator cuff muscles stabilizing the humeral head in the glenoid fossa will be discussed. Arthrokinematic properties normally occurring in shoulder elevation and deviations leading to pathology will be addressed. Types of rotator cuff impingement, causes and common special test procedures will be presented. Review of current arthroscopic repair procedures and immediate post considerations will conclude the presentation.
