Abstract

Creating and updating online lecture material is often time-consuming and difficult. Adobe Spark, a free online website, allows for the creation of engaging lecture material. Utilizing Adobe Spark to create lecture material is relatively easy and students have reported they enjoy reading and interacting with lecture material via Adobe Spark. In this session, I will first describe how I have utilized Adobe Spark to create a syllabus as way to deliver a more personalized syllabus for students. Next, I will show how I have used Adobe Spark to deliver lecture material to students in an engaging manner, one that includes a dynamic webpage, filled with graphics, links, and embedded videos. I will share both unprompted student feedback about Adobe Spark (from course evaluations) as well as data from when I polled students to respond about their preference of Adobe Spark versus traditional video lecture format. Lastly, I will share how to utilize Adobe Spark as an alternative to writing traditional papers. This session offers practical tips and suggestions on how to utilize this free, web-based platform, and is ideal to anyone who is interested in different ways to deliver information and/or assign web-based projects.
