Quality Matters provides a solid foundation for modeling academic integrity for our learners through Standard 4.3 We will explore the possibilities for being copyright ready as we move into the future of Distance Learning. Join us for this interactive session of digging deeper into the mysterious world of copyrighted, cited, course materials with attribution.

Abstract

The landscape for copyright within education is definitely changing, join us as we focus on how to effectively incorporate change in our interactions and bring our courses to a higher level.

This interactive session will examine Quality Matters Standard 4.3 in detail in order to provide our faculty with effective tools to be truly copyright compliant in online courses.

Session objectives:

  1. Identify components of Quality Matters standard 4.3
  2. Discuss need for faculty awareness
  3. Identify strategies to encourage faculty adoption (CBAM stages)
  4. Share possible incentives
  5. Describe tools available for copyright compliance
  6. Summarize the changing landscape for copyright issues

This session addresses concerns that every institution needs to be examining carefully. We will take a higher perspective on the standard itself and the components included. We will also share research on basic change strategies which help develop awareness and adoption of new initiatives. Group discussion will include possible incentives with a distinct focus on the focus on the ethical component and accountability. We will share resources to readily incorporate academic integrity and copyright compliance for all.
