Short Description
This presentation intends to explore the application of the e-Affordances into the Foreign Language classroom as tools to build a significant learning environment.
The audience will be exposed to the theoretical frameworks: the Taxonomy of Significant Learning ( D. Fink) and the e-Learning Affordances ( B. Cope) and then they will be guided to apply the elements of each framework in order to create an effective learning environment.
Abstract
The intersection between digital technologies and pedagogy can provide us with the possibility to re- think and re-shape our curriculum to better satisfy the educational demands for the 21st Century.
The objective of this presentation is to expose the audience to the following theoretical frameworks: Taxonomy of Significant Learning ( D. Fink) and the e-Learning affordances ( B. Cope). The audience will be able to reflect on how specific digital tools can be successfully implemented to re-design the foreign language curriculum in order to create a successful pedagogical ecosystem and a meaningful learning experience.
The outcomes of the presentation are the following:
-The audience will be able to demonstrate understanding of the main characteristics of the theoretical frameworks presented
-The audience will be able to demonstrate understanding of innovative digital tools to enhance foreign language teaching
-The audience will be able to incorporate new concepts and strategies to their daily practice
The presentation relates to the conference theme because it centers its attention in providing tools to expand the horizons of our practice and shift our attention from content to the different elements that constitute the learning experience.
