Abstract

In this workshop, I will give participants an orientation to how I became a scholar and teacher of aging topics before my 20s were over, and how I have bridged personal experiences and stories with teaching techniques I learned from a variety of sources. The workshop will include sample course modules and discovery activities for attendees to use in their own teaching, along with demonstrations of several of those activities and opportunities for participants to reflect on their experiences. We will wrap up with a planning exercise that guides attendees in assessing their own unique strengths and challenges in teaching aging topics, and helps them plan future approaches to use in their own classrooms.
