Abstract

Low-Fat Love Stories is a book coauthored by Patricia Leavy and Victoria Scotti. The book is a collection of short stories and visual arts based directly on women’s interview transcripts. In this article, the authors respond to Low-Fat Love Stories through text and visual art. The authors show how artistic analysis inspires personal reflection.

Gioia Chilton, Ph.D., ATR-BC, CSAC is an art therapist, artist, and scholar. Her writing has appeared in The Oxford Handbook of Qualitative Research, Handbook of Arts-based Research, the Journal of Applied Arts and Health, and the Journal of Military, Veteran, and Family Health. With Rebecca A. Wilkinson, she co-authored Positive Art Therapy Theory and Practice: Integrating Positive Psychology with Art Therapy.
