Patricia Leavy, Ph.D. is an independent scholar (formerly Associate Professor of Sociology, Chair of Sociology & Criminology and Founding Director of Gender Studies at Stonehill College). She is widely considered an international leader in the fields of arts-based research and qualitative inquiry. Her twenty published books include Method Meets Art: Arts-Based Research Practice(first and second editions), The Oxford Handbook of Qualitative Research, Fiction as Research Practice, Essentials ofTransdisciplinary Researchand the best-selling novels Low-Fat Love (first and second editions), American Circumstance(first and second editions) and Blue.
