Description

Dr. Taheri is a second year Family Medicine resident at Lakeside Medical Center in Belle Glade, FL. She received her BS in Biology with a minor in psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2011, Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics from NSU in 2017, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from NSU in 2017.

During her undergraduate education she served as a teaching assistant for anatomy and physiology. Dr. Taheri also completed an externship in Graz, Austria where she assisted in transplant surgeries for 6 weeks. She was able to have hands on experience as well as participate in liver transplant research. She had a passion for arts, so during her senior year of college she completed a research project called Art Science. In this project she carved out the circulatory system of the human body on a linoleum block. She received first place for it in the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Currently Dr. Taheri has been working on preventative medicine and health in the rural community of Belle Glade. She is working with the underserved population to provide better healthcare and access in the Glades. She, along with her fellow residents, have most recently published a chapter about colon cancer screening in the book called Primary Care Clinic in Office Practice. She was promoted to Chief Resident and will soon be starting her last year of residency.
