Description
Samantha Krueger is a third year optometry student at Nova Southeastern University. Prior to beginning optometry school, Samantha completed her undergraduate course work at Nova Southeastern University Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography. During her undergraduate studies, Samantha actively participated in the Science Alive program and was a member of the Honors College. She served as the secretary of the Pre-Optometry club for two years. As a member of the Dual Admissions program, she earned her BA in Biology in 2017 and a BA in Vision Science from the College of Optometry in 2018.
Samantha is currently a student member of the College of Vision Development chapter at NSU. In November 2018, Samantha completed the requirements to earn her student fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. Samantha is also an active member of the Sports Vision and Concussion club. This year, Samantha has participated as a team member in the Inter- Professional Diabetes Education and Awareness initiative at NSU’s Health Profession Division. Along with her team, “Power over Diabetes,” Samantha has attended local community events in order to raise public awareness about diabetes and exercise.
Samantha is currently working towards earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in May 2020. She is passionate about pediatrics, binocular vision, vision therapy, and primary eye care. Samantha hopes to complete a residency in pediatrics and binocular vision following her graduation from optometry school in 2020.
