Description

Adolescents with DCD are getting more attention in the literature. Evidence shows that DCD does not resolve itself in childhood. Rather, it continues into adolescence and adulthood, with increased risk of mental health and psychosocial issues. DCD impacts on function and participation in areas such as academics, leisure and hobby participation, and socialization, and therefore necessitates intervention. This presentation will outline some of the issues commonly encountered in this population. It will further discuss a pilot group intervention program created to address these issues. It will explore some results of implementation and provide a template for use by other clinicians.
