Description
While the American Occupational Therapy Association identifies driving and community mobility as an emerging practice area, the vast majority of published manuscripts only address some aspect of driverassessment and/or remediation while ignoring “community mobility” for those who are no longer able to drive safely. This presentation discusses the process of driving cessation and identifies potential transportation options to keep former drivers connected to their communities. The facilitators and barriers to alternative transportation use will also be discussed.
