Description
Image was taken in May of 2023 while on the Ecology of the Galapagos trip with Dr Joshua Feingold. The image was taken while snorkeling off the island of Floreana and depicts a Galapagos Green Turtle resting among several large coral heads. Seeing this turtle completely unfazed by all the passing snorkelers gave me an overwhelming appreciation for how acclimated Galapagos marine and terrestrial organisms have become to human activity. This is how ecosystems can benefit when every species is protected and undisturbed within an established national park.
