Abstract

In an era of digital transformation in education, integrating tablet-based technologies into lecture delivery offers new opportunities to enhance student engagement, study skills, and long-term retention. By shifting from passive content delivery to interactive, stylus-driven annotation and note-taking, educators can foster deeper student engagement and promote active learning.

This session will highlight practical approaches for incorporating live annotation during lectures and encouraging students to personalize their learning materials. Insights into how digital note-taking influences memory recall and study habits will be discussed, along with implementation tips for faculty across disciplines.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate how to use the iPad, Apple Pencil, and GoodNotes 6 to facilitate interactive lecture delivery and real-time annotation.
  2. Explain how digital handwriting and annotation support cognitive processes such as organization, summarization, and memory recall.
