Abstract
In today’s dynamic educational landscape, raising the bar means equipping educators to effectively engage with diverse learners by understanding various personality types. Our workshop aims to enhance educators' ability to create learner-centered environments, crucial for fostering academic and personal success. We will explore how recognizing and valuing different personality types can transform group dynamics and improve learning outcomes.
Participants will delve into positive psychology with a focus on the strengths of different personality types. Through a personal preference profile test, available at www.kingdomality.com, participants will gain insights into twelve unique characters—Merchant, Engineer-Builder, Scientist, Doctor, Shepherd, White Knight, Dreamer-Minstrel, Benevolent Ruler, Bishop, Discover, Prime Minister, and Black Knight. This assessment, linked to a fable about interpersonal relationships, will help participants understand how each personality contributes to a richer, more inclusive learning environment.
To facilitate this understanding, we will use animal character portraits to visually represent the distinctive qualities of these personalities. By embracing emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness, educators can create an atmosphere of inclusivity and respect for cultural differences. We will also discuss challenges with hybrid online teaching. This workshop will provide practical strategies for educators to enhance their interactions and build a classroom environment that truly supports and elevates modern learners.
