Abstract
Education challenges are becoming increasingly diverse and complex. As educators and researchers navigate a rapidly changing education landscape, it is becoming increasingly clear that the same symptoms do not necessarily stem from the same underlying challenges. In this context, two important questions arise: 1) How can we distinguish between individual learner needs in a diverse classroom? 2) How can we innovate as individuals and as a community to make an equitable impact on education? This exploratory presentation shares AI-assisted innovation strategies in education. Building on the conceptual APDI framework, the presentation shares strategies to dissect education challenges and explore pathways to elevate learner experiences. The first section introduces the APDI framework and its features. The second section then shares approaches to develop an initial inquiry about an observed challenge. Next, the third section explores approaches to analyzing the observed challenge. Finally, the fourth section shares strategies toward innovation in education. Attendees are invited to share their inquiry and thoughts during several activities. At the end of the presentation, attendees are welcome to share their own field perspectives and ask questions. This presentation addresses both educator practitioners and education researchers.
