Ismael Muvingi, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Conflict Resolution Studies (DCRS) in NSU’s College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), was an invited speaker at the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs (NAFSA) Ron Moffatt Seminar on Peace and the Global Civil Society. This seminar, which was held at Northeastern University in Boston, brought together thought leaders and practitioners in peacebuilding and conflict resolution with educators focused on teaching and facilitating transnational education. NAFSA is the world’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education. Muvingi’s presentation was entitled, Global-Local Issues in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding in Practice.”

Muvingi is the faculty advisor to the African Working Group (AWG) at CHASS. His research and teaching interests include transitional justice, human rights, and Africa and the African Diaspora. He is a representative to NSU’s Institutional Review Board and the Director of the Doctoral Program in Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
