Abstract
This practicum aimed to make the benefits of a female organization's informal education program known to school personnel and educational leaders through 333 local councils nationwide. The practicum offered councils an information resource to use in marketing the program to the educational community.
Several information and marketing pieces were developed and incorporated with other underutilized pieces to create an Educator's Information Kit. Two national workshops were conducted to help council marketing directors use the materials in marketing the program to the educational community. The kit was piloted and evaluated by the councils.
Outcomes of this practicum were delayed but very positive. The kit was used on a national level as well as a local level to inform educators of the benefits of the female organization's program. The data from this practicum strongly demonstrated the following: (a) if given appropriate accessible materials councils will market the program to the educational community, (b) educators respond positively to concise information and are eager to learn about valid programs for girls, and (c) all marketing materials must be provided to councils on a continuous basis and in an easily accessible manner.
