Abstract

This practicum was deigned to coordinate and standardize the articulation process between the junior high school feeder schools and the secondary center school for exceptional education students. Meetings, and inservice sessions were conducted with counselors, parents, teachers and students to increase the understanding of the criteria for placement of exceptional educational students. The writer developed an articulation time structure; designed appropriate transition forms; evaluated student referral information; and administered a post registration survey of the articulation process. Analysts of the data revealed that the standardization of articulation was successful process and that referrals for transition to secondary school better met the required criteria. The relationships between the counselors and teachers in this articulation process was enriched by the increased communication and valuable exchange of Information.
