Abstract

The problem was that the NSU Law Center needed to create means other than the juris doctor program to stimulate enrollment. The creation of dual degree programs was conceived with the intent to draw prospective students to apply to the Law Center. The global economy created a need for a multi-cultural and multi-lingual pool of lawyers. International dual degree law programs allow students to earn a law degree in the United States and another country by studying at a foreign law school while they are enrolled at the U.S. law school.

The research questions that were addressed included: (a) “What was the appropriate content for a marketing plan for the international dual degree programs?” (b) “What was the appropriate design of the marketing plan?” (c) “What was an appropriate strategy for implementing the marketing plan?” (d) “What was an appropriate strategy for evaluating the marketing plan?

Procedures for the project using the iterative review process were: (a) review of the literature, (b) establishment of the formative and summative committees, (c) the creation and distribution and a research survey instrument, (d) the creation of the marketing plan, (e) the development of an implementation plan, and (f) the formation of an evaluation plan.

It was assumed that the information presented in the literature review was current and relevant. The project was limited to law students at Nova Southeastern University Law Center. Educational practice will be improved since law students were made aware of the opportunity to study in another country while earning a law degrees both in the United States and a foreign country.
