Description
CACREP is the accrediting body for counselor training programs, both at the master’s and at the doctoral levels. Until recently, counselor educators have simply needed a copy of the Standards to develop their courses and ensure that their program was in alignment with the Standards. However, with the recent notification that CACREP was merging with CORE, the accrediting body for rehabilitation counseling, many counselor educators are unsure how to include CORE standards in their programs. The focus of the session is to provide an overview of the issue and make recommendations for including CORE standards in master’s-and doctoral-level counselor education and supervision programs.
