Abstract
Despite the wide use of the Stroop in psychological research there has been relatively little work on the effect on the test of demographic variables. No research to date has examined the effect of sex on pure scores of interference. The present study examined this question as well as general effects of 219 Ss' sex on Stroop performance. The results indicated better performance by females on the two color cards, but no difference on pure measures of performance, The implications were discussed.
