Abstract
Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy (PT: TRPP) is the official journal of the Trauma Psychology Division (56) of the American Psychological Association (APA). What is especially remarkable is that 56 is the newest division of APA; its formation was approved by the APA Council less than three years ago, in February, 2006. That the Division is already in a position to establish its own journal is only one of several indicators of its stability and maturity despite its relative youth. Another is that the size of its membership already exceeds the median for APA divisions. A major aim of PT: TRPP is to keep professionals well-versed by serving as a reliable source of information about current developments in the trauma field. Another guiding principle of the Journal will be to promote diversity and to meet the needs of a broad spectrum of professionals. The current issue of PT: TRPP consists of articles previously published in APA journals which exemplify the range and quality of scholarship that PT: TRPP will strive to deliver.
