Abstract
The structural gene encoding feline α-l-iduronidase has been assigned to chromosome D4 by electrophoretic analysis of feline-hamster somatic cell hybrids. Previously, the human α-L-iduronidase gene had been assigned to the chromosomal region 22pter-q11. α-L-Iduronidase is the first human gene on chromosome 22 to be comparatively mapped in cats and the localization of the feline gene should facilitate further genetic analysis of the feline MPSI animal model.
