Abstract
Problem finding is a creative process where individuals develop original ideas for study. Secondary science students who successfully participate in authentic open inquiry studies must engage in problem finding to determine viable and suitable topics. A multicase study examined problem finding strategies employed by highly successful students who presented a project at a 8 regional and international science fair. Behaviors are examined through lenses of inquiry, creativity, and situated cognition.
