Abstract

The debate over teacher quality improvement, accountability, and teacher improvement programs has become popular amongst educators today. Some research suggest that many teachers have inadequate content knowledge, lack preparation in the subjects they teach, and that the majority of content-deficient teachers are in low-performing schools (Finn, 1999b, p. 3) as cited in Torff & Sessions (2005). This study will explore the experiences of teacher quality improvement by principals and assistants.
