Abstract

We present complementary analyses of interview data from Arabic-Canadian immigrant teens and parents reflecting on the stories they tell each other in the context of everyday family life. We generated an initial conceptualization of intergenerational storytelling in this context using constructivist grounded theory methodology (GTM). These results are augmented by our narrative analysis (NA) with a part of adolescent interviews in which they told a story as if telling it to their parents.
