Abstract

This presentation will explore how form in qualitative research mediates the understanding of readers/viewers, and how the use of a form by the researcher mediates the understanding of the data. It will share interactively with examples of poetry, collage, music, and performance how various genres of arts-informed inquiry transform understanding by increasing accessibility, incorporating ambiguity, permitting multiple interpretations, including marginalized voices, and challenging linear thinking.
