Abstract
Porphyrins differ in the nature of their peripheral substitution; β substituted are known as natural porphyrins and meso substituted as synthetic porphyrins. Within the meso substituted porphyrins we studied the H2pOH-TPhP. The UV absorption spectra of this porphyrin is observed and monitored between 350 and 750 nm. The resulting absorption spectra after the creation of the dianion and dication with the respective titrations using NaHCO3/HCl and NaOH/HCl will be explained based on the position of the OH in the phenyl group and contribution to the formation of the respective dication or dianion.
