Description
Burrowing owls are one of the smallest owls in the state of Florida. This family still had two of the fledglings living in the burrow. This means that they were younger than 12 weeks old, which is the time they typically set out on their own. The photo was taken in Plantation Heritage Park right before sunset shortly after the owls emerged.
