Description

The new york times article title "Diego, the Tortoise Whose High Sex Drive Helped Save His Species, Retires" says volumes. Diego, a 100-year-old Galapagos giant tortoise species from Española Island is credited with the success of the breeding program to re-establish his species. The tortoises in the photo are Diego's F1 progeny, and continue his important work at the breeding center today.
