Nova University had 21 students when it admitted its first class on September 25, 1967. Members of the class were: Arthur Bardige, Roller C. Beckhart, Leroy Bolden, Gloria C. Cashin, Homer W. Hiser, James C. Howald, Earl F. Hughes, Jonas Kaye, Thomas Robert Kendall, Joaquin Lira-Olivares, Charles P. Martens, Clarice M. Moreth, David F. Parrish, Robert O. Plaisted, Siddhartha Ray, Ian S. Rudnick, Ernest D. True, Paul A. Viebrock, Georges L. Weatherly, Thomas L. Yach, and Michael Yost, Jr.
The first class of doctoral students came from Florida, but also, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Indiana, California, Minnesota, Venezuela, and India.
