Abstract
summary: Methods used to achieve hamstring flexibility may require modification in the athlete with discogenic lower back pain. Maintaining a natural lumbar lordosis with an anterior pelvic tilt during stretching facilitates the most efficient flexibility gains and protects the intervertebral disc from undue stress.
