Abstract
The purpose of this qualitative dissertation case study review was to observe the lived experience of a responder during an Ebola response in West Africa and to develop a resilience model based on the investigator’s methodologies used to create a social network support system while deployed. The problem is there is limited data that assists responders with their own resilience and understanding of challenges they may experience while supporting a response. To bridge this gap of knowledge, a qualitative grounded theory analysis of a responder’s case study, yielding reoccurring themes, were evaluated. Key themes were identified from the results and used to assist the investigator to develop a Responder Social Media Resilience (RSMR) model to assist other responders in future outbreaks.
