Abstract
Effectively identifying patient risk factors has signifi cant implications on the quality of care, safe delivery of surgical care, and speedy recovery of patients undergoing elective open intestinal resection. This study assessed the effect of preoperative patient profi les on elective open intestinal resection outcomes and identifi ed independent signifi cant predictors of in-hospital mortality, in-hospital complications, and prolonged length of stay (LOS).
