Abstract
Now that we know the basics of accountable care organizations (ACOs), which were covered in part 1 of this series, the next step is to address how a pharmacist can be integrated within an ACO. To date, medication therapy management (MTM) and annual wellness visits (AWVs) are the primary services that have demonstrated benefits regarding improvements in health outcomes and cost savings when pharmacists are integrated specifically within an ACO.1,2
