Abstract
As improved healthcare is an international priority, the focus of the PhD in nursing needs to be broadened from that of nurse scientist, focusing on gaps in the literature to one that includes an application of such research to nursing practice, healthcare outcomes, healthcare delivery and healthcare policy.
