Abstract
Men may be from Mars but women have two x chromosomes. If you have a mother, sister, daughter or wife and she has a mouth, this course is for you. This program examines oral health throughout a women’s life. From puberty and adolescence through young adulthood, to middle and older adults, this seminar will discuss oral diseases and systemic conditions and medications affecting girls and women from the common (pregnancy, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis) to the uncommon (eating disorders, Sjogren’s syndrome, TMD, domestic violence). The program will discuss risk factors and how to identify them clinically, and strategies for prevention.
