Abstract
Objectives: To Understand why deep brain stimulation (DBS) is performed as a gold standard on an awake patient. To Describe the effects of anesthetics and sedation drugs on microelectrode recording (MER) and the accuracy of DBS lead implantation. To Describe different types of anesthesia that allow for a successful outcome of DBS placement.
