Inductee Biography
Kurt Langsenkamp is president of Steel Fabricators, LLC (SF). His father, Henry J. Langsenkamp, founded the company in 1963 as a family-owned business. Today, it is the largest steel fabricator in Florida. In 1994, the company was acquired by Canam Steel Corporation, and Langsenkamp was promoted to general manager, then regional vice president. Revenues soared from $20 million to $50 million in 1998. The company was reacquired in 1998, and in 2004, Langsenkamp formed a new company, FabSouth, LLC. He served as president and CEO of FabSouth and grew the company from $150 million to $300 million in 2006, all while serving as president of SF and growing its business to $75 million in 2006. The company completes more than 700 structural steel projects annually. With more than 600 employees, SF erected steel in 45 states in 2006. Major projects include the BankAtlantic Center, American Airlines Arena, Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Terminals, Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina, Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, and Walt Disney World's Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, to name a few. Langsenkamp is involved with the local community, donating his time and efforts to causes close to his heart. He serves on a number of boards for organizations such as the Covenant House and Saint Mark's Episcopal School. He is committed to supporting education and was instrumental in the development of Saint Mark's $2.5 million multipurpose gymnasium. The Langsenkamps have been married for more than 20 years and have two daughters.
