Robert Wayne devoted his amazing career with his students and fellows to establish the domestic dog as a genetic/genomics model for basic and applied studies of domestication, natural history, evolution, speciation, conservation, phenotype resolution and hereditary diseases. Wayne’s contributions are legend in his field and have propelled canine genomic inference in biological, evolutionary, veterinary, and medical model disciplines. He is a Professor at UCLA today.
