Executive Summary
This strategic research project was developed to advocate as an evidence-based strategy, and action plan to address the limitations of practice within organizations that struggle with structured onboarding, leadership alignment, and employee retention across large-scale organizational systems. This issue presents a significant hinderance to executive leaders due to unidentified and unaddressed systemic gaps in operational efficiency, workplace engagement and overall culture of the organization. Examining diagnostic strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis indicated surface-level operational challenges. The recommended solutions to confront these issues of practice are grounded in currently peer-reviewed scholarly academic literature and strategic management frameworks, highlighting that transformation within a company warrants a systems-thinking approach. For this method to be effective it must align with organizational long-term objectives and the executive leadership culture within the workplace.
The strategies selected were to prioritize top-down leadership development programs. This program would be effective with structured mentoring and coaching systems working in collaboration alongside it, and executing the evaluation process by utilizing the quantitative strategic planning matrix. The action plan outlined in this project to implement this strategy incorporates identified competency assessments, structured developmental timelines, clear role accountabilities and responsibilities, in addition to on-going performance feedback loops. By establishing leadership capabilities at the top levels, development practices cascade effectively throughout the organization to enhance secondary processes such as onboarding and succession planning. Insights developed from this project, supported by peer reviewed feedback regarding stakeholder buy-in and long-term sustainability, offer a visible blueprint to shape and improve leadership practices and organizational effectiveness across supply-chain, corporate, and various types of organizational settings and working environments.
