Addressing The Effects of Challenging Behaviors in Early Childhood Education Classrooms. RonKeisha Kelly, 2026: SRP, Nova Southeastern University, Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. Keywords: Adverse Childhood Experiences, Challenging Behaviors, Continuous Quality Improvement, Early Childhood Education, and Inclusion

This SRP examined the factors that influence the effectiveness of a rural Head Start program in supporting children with behavioral and social-emotional needs. It also analyzed the organization's various aspects to improve its capacity to deliver effective services. The analysis included a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats Analysis, Internal Factor Evaluation, External Factor Evaluation, and the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix to identify the organization's strategic priorities and determine the most suitable solution.

The SRP argues that collaborative coaching is the most effective approach to improving classroom behavior management and increasing the fidelity of evidence-based practices. It was selected for its positive effects on teachers' self-efficacy and for aligning with the principles of Head Start and organizational leadership. The implementation plan included coaching cycles, continuous improvement, data-driven evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. It was also designed to sustain the program's improvement by developing stronger community partnerships and increasing coaching staff capacity. The goal of the proposed strategy is to improve the quality of education and children's social-emotional development by reducing challenging behaviors and improving staff retention. It also aims to enhance the program's performance by increasing the number of teachers and improving the effectiveness of practices. The project's objective is to provide a comprehensive analysis of organizational leadership and how it can help improve the performance of Head Start and child-focused organizations.
