Executive Summary
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was a catastrophic to the global economy. The pandemic placed added pressure on organizations throughout the globe. As the global economy opened up post quarantine, many organizations were lacking necessary supplies to operate normally. During the pandemic Professional Laboratories (PRO-LAB) began working to prepare for other possible financial scares that could occur.
This strategic research project was designed to provide strategies to prevent future financial challenges that can affect an organization. This project discovers possible strategies to prevent future financial challenges such as: manufacturing research and development & cross-training. Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat Analysis (SWOT) was used to weigh the pros and cons to each of the solutions provided. After the completion of the SWOT analysis, cross-training was chosen as the most effective way to help in preventing future financial challenges. An Action Plan was created to help the organization strategically implement a cross-training program within PRO-LAB. It is suggested that future studies are conducted within the post-COVID future, in order to explore other strategy possibility to prevent future financial challenges.
