A Strategic Plan: Bolstering Mission & Vision Through 3DE’s Effective Collaboration. Julio L. Ortiz Rios, 2024: Strategic Research Project, Nova Southeastern University, Abraham S. Keywords: professional development, effective collaboration, organizational vision, organizational mission, competency-based instruction, mentorship, sustainability, and re-engineering

This strategic research project was designed to provide insight on the factors impacting the overall performance of 3DE by Junior Achievement. Challenges on the understanding on the vision and mission statements were identified through a strengths-weaknesses-opportunities-threats (SWOT) analysis applying tools such as the Internal Factor Evaluation and External Factor Evaluation. The solution identified to address the organizational challenge was the implementation of professional development opportunities for stakeholders to increase understanding of the core values. The strategy selected to support this solution was effective collaboration between 3DE leaders and local stakeholders. The strategy’s selection happened by using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix to evaluate the relative attractiveness relevant to each of the factors identified in the SWOT analysis.

An action plan was developed with specific steps to follow to address the organizational problem. The following five steps are described in detail in this research: to present the strategy in the annual Convention to ensure understanding and consensus; to conduct monthly market meetings to promote collaboration among directors; to implement the strategy in every market; to evaluate and monitor the plan; and to collect data on the effectiveness of the strategy. The action plan intends to increase understanding, capacity, and organizational sustainability for 3DE by Junior Achievement. Implementation of the plan developed in this research project could help with the following points: (a) increased expansion of the model with a sustainable team; (b) increased collaboration of national and local directors with school stakeholders; (c) buy in from district leaders; and (d) inclusive mission statements with increased sense of belonging for stakeholders. The project is expected to be presented to 3DE by Junior Achievement to increase performance of the organization for the 2025-2026 school year. The impact of the studied solution and strategies should generate positive outcomes for the organization. Stakeholders involved in the process will benefit from the pre and post implementation phases of this project.
