Abstract

The article discusses the report "Growing by Degrees," released by the Sloan Consortium. This is the third annual report of the Sloan Consortium on the state of online education in higher education in the U.S. It examines whether online education is now part of the mainstream education. In doing so, it determines the percentage of American universities with traditional courses offering online courses and programs. It ascertains the participation of full-time faculty in the teaching of online courses and programs.
